At present, traditional water disinfection methods are still limited to static disinfection—for example, water purifiers, which involve placing the water source in a container where it is filtered, harmful substances are adsorbed, or disinfection takes place. However, in recent years, a new method of disinfection has been introduced to the market: UVC LED in-flow water disinfection. For example, by installing a UVC LED ultraviolet component on a tap, disinfection can be initiated the moment water begins to flow, with the process completed instantaneously as the water passes through; this is known as in-flow disinfection.
The advantage of in-line water disinfection is that it eliminates the risk of secondary contamination; the disinfection unit, situated as close as possible to the outlet, ensures the water source remains as safe and sterile as possible, guaranteeing the purity of every drop of water.
