Online Real-time UV Irradiance Monitor

Product Overview

Product Specifications

The LS129 UV Digital Probe is an ultra-compact, intelligent UV digital probe suitable for a wide range of applications requiring real-time monitoring of UV power and energy levels. It features a standard RS485 communication interface and supports the MODBUS communication protocol, enabling convenient direct connection to PLCs,
Human-machine interfaces, communication between computers and other devices, real-time data acquisition and monitoring. Depending on the UV spectral range being tested and the specific industry of application, three different types of UV probes have currently been developed:

No. Sensor Model Spectral Response Industry Applications
1 LS129-UVALED 340 nm–420 nm UV curing; measurement of UV LED surface light source intensity and energy
2 LS129-UVA 315 nm–400 nm UV curing, measurement of high-pressure mercury lamp intensity and energy
3 Measurement of the intensity and energy of the LS129-UVC 230 nm–280 nm 254 nm ultraviolet germicidal mercury lamp

Communication parameters
1. Station number
The LS129 UV digital probe supports the standard MODBUS protocol, with a default communication address of “1”. This can be configured via the “HMI
Use the ”Interface Debugging Tool” or the communication protocol to modify the probe’s communication address; the address can be set within the range 1–247.
2. Baud rate
The UV digital probe has a default baud rate of 9600 bps. The baud rate can be modified using the “HMI Debugging Tool” or via the communication protocol; the available baud rates are 4800, 9600, 19200 and 38400.
3. Communication protocols
Supports the standard MODBUS protocol; the probe’s measurement data can be read and the communication address and baud rate can be set via the communication protocol,
For details of the communication commands, please refer to the ‘LS129 Digital Probe Communication Protocol’.
4. Probe wiring
Wire colours – Function descriptions
Black (with heat-shrink tubing) – shielded earth
Red: Power supply positive (DC 5–24 V)
Black (Power) Negative Green RS485-
White RS485+
Note: To connect to a computer, you will need an RS485-to-RS232 or RS485-to-USB adapter.

Measurements and Points to Note

1. When the probe’s receiving window is positioned directly opposite the UV light source, the power density of UV radiation at the current test point can be obtained.
2. Avoid contact with corrosive substances and keep away from environments with high humidity.
3. It is recommended that verification be carried out annually.
4. As the UV sensor is highly sensitive to changes in humidity, the storage environment is very important. If the instrument is not to be used for an extended period, please
Be sure to store the probe in a low-humidity environment. For example, store the probe in a dry plastic bag.

Features of the Instrument

1. The instrument is very compact; the detector and controller are designed as separate units, but they can be combined.
It forms a single unit. It is also designed with fixed screw holes, making it very easy to install.
2. An exceptionally wide DC power supply range, making it suitable for use in industrial environments;
3. Utilises an RS485 communication interface and the standard MODBUS communication protocol, and is equipped with high-temperature cables capable of withstanding temperatures of 200°C, enabling
Continuous online monitoring.
