Why use nitrogen as a protective gas:

The introduction of nitrogen allows other gases to be expelled, thereby preventing the UV de-gumming machine from experiencing poor de-gumming results due to reaction with oxygen in the air during the de-gumming process.

This significantly reduces the impact of oxygen and water vapour in the air on the polymerisation reaction of the UV light source—as oxygen and water vapour can participate in the chemical reaction of UV LEDs:

It dissipates UV energy, generates ozone and affects the chemical reactions of photosensitisers.
