How do you use UVC LEDs?
Firstly, select a constant-current power supply based on the power supply specifications. Secondly, solder the UVC LEDs. How should you solder the LEDs? The method you choose will depend on the design of your light and the number of LEDs involved.
Precautions for the Use of Deep Ultraviolet (UVC) LEDs
Please exercise extreme caution when handling UV LEDs. Never touch the front surface of UV LEDs, as any contact may cause the chip to detach, the gold wires to break, or bare hands to contaminate them with oil.
Avoid dropping UV LEDs or subjecting them to severe impact.
When handling UV LEDs with tweezers, ensure that any UV LEDs are held only by their ceramic or aluminium alloy body, and not by the front cap, window glass or lens. Failure to do so may result in damage to the chip, gold wires or glass lens.
Storage:
These UV LEDs should be stored at 30 °C or below, with a relative humidity of 80 per cent or less (for non-sealed types). UV LEDs. These UV LEDs should be used within three months.
Containers containing desiccant (silica gel) and sealed, such as nitrogen storage containers, are recommended for SMT packaging to keep moisture levels to a minimum for UV LEDs.
Do not stack AR4N units, particularly the AR4N-AB and H models. Stacking AR4N-AB and H units with lenses may cause damage to the lenses due to the accumulation of UV light from the LEDs, as mentioned above.
Static electricity:
These UV LEDs are sensitive to ESD (electrostatic discharge); electrostatic discharge and surge voltages can cause serious damage to them. Precautions must be taken to prevent electrostatic discharge when handling or operating UV LEDs.
