A wafer film stretching machine is a piece of equipment used after the cutting process to stretch the film uniformly, thereby separating the cut chips and spacing them evenly apart by a specific distance. The machine utilises a servo motor for film stretching, and the stretching height and speed can be configured via the touchscreen.
Following the dicing process, in which semiconductor integrated circuit chips are cut from a wafer, the gaps between the chips are very small, which can lead to the chips colliding with one another and causing chipped edges, resulting in waste.

The film expansion machine can quickly and easily expand cut chips in the X-Y directions, uniformly increasing the spacing between chips to the required dimensions, thereby separating them and preventing damage caused by collision, thus producing intact integrated circuit chips. The worktable is equipped with a heating system and features adjustable temperature settings, which enhance the spreading effect and significantly increase the spreading height to meet the diverse needs of customers. Purpose:

It is widely used in the wafer expansion process for the manufacture of light-emitting diodes, low- to medium-power transistors, backlight units, LEDs, integrated circuits and certain specialised semiconductor devices.

Take the LED industry, for example: chip spreading machines evenly separate closely packed LED chips, enabling them to be mounted more effectively onto the workpieces to be soldered. It utilises the heat-induced plasticity of the LED film and employs dual-cylinder top-and-bottom control to evenly spread a single sheet of LED chips in all directions; once a satisfactory chip spacing is achieved, the machine automatically forms the film, ensuring it remains taut and free from deformation.
