Precautions against static electricity should be taken when using UV LEDs
Points to Note Regarding Electrostatic Protection
-
This product is sensitive to static electricity and surge voltages, and the chip may be damaged if subjected to static electricity or surge voltages,
As the reliability of this product may be affected, the following anti-static measures should be taken during operation.
Use anti-static wrist straps, conductive clothing, conductive footwear, conductive flooring and similar items to dissipate static electricity
Ground equipment, tools and other items within the work area to discharge any static electricity
Workbenches, storage racks and similar items made from conductive materials
-
Ensure that all tools, equipment and devices within the operational area that require earthing are correctly earthed. Furthermore, surge voltage protection measures must also be implemented for modules or products installed with this product.
-
If insulators such as glass or plastic are used in tools and equipment, the following anti-static measures should be implemented.
Conductivity using conductive materials
Humidification to prevent static electricity
Using an ion generator to neutralise charges
-
During the functional testing carried out after installing this product onto the module, a final check is also performed to determine whether any electrostatic damage is present. A forward voltage test conducted at a low current (≤ 1 mA) can identify components that have suffered electrostatic damage.
-
If this product suffers electrostatic damage, abnormalities such as a reduction in the initial forward voltage may occur.
Failure criteria: (VF < 2.0 V at IF = 0.5 mA)
